Android Application Permissions

Protecting our user’s privacy is paramount to us.To provide the Check on Me service, the application however does require some access permissions on your phone. When installing the Check on Me application Android advises you of these access request.

appPermissionsIn the following we explain which access permissions the application needs and why these are required:

  • Contacts: This permission is required for User Alerts where you can use the content of the standard phone book to select recipient and their phone number.
  • Location: Access to the location information is required for track requests and User Alerts. Note that the location is only determined a) on explicit request of a family member that you granted the right to do so, and b) on your explicit request to execute a User Alert.
  • Phone: There are two cases when the application may invoke an outbound call: a) on explicit request of a family member that you granted the right to request a call-back, and b) on your explicit request to execute a User Alert that has one of the recipients selected for an automatic call establishment.
